This is the hardest part for me. I am such a stickler when it comes to color. I can't stand being like this. I wish I could just tell the painter, "oh just put a neutral tone, anything will be fine." But oh no, not me.
Instead of giving myself 20 choices, I chose tan tones and gray tones. Well the gray won. The gray on the left is BM Sandy Hook Gray, but I had Sherwin Williams mix it because they are here in town and I didn't want to have to drive 30 minutes to get BM paint. We will paint the Living, Dining and Kitchen areas with the Sandy Hook Gray. Most of the rest of the house will get this same shade but 25% lighter. That would be the shade all the way to the right.
This is the marble I chose for Master shower, tub deck and vanity countertops. Crema Marfil. I just wanted something neutral that will stand the test of time and go with any color I choose.
The cabinetry will be stained, as well as all crown molding, casements, baseboards and doors. I can always paint later if it is too dark. But we live in the country and I am going for a rustic feel.
This is actually a picture using Silvermist. I really like it. Looks relaxing.
Tomorrow painters are painting ceilings and closets. Next they will start on the walls. If you have any suggestions about the paint color for master bedroom please let me know.
Thanks,
Deb

I vote for the Silvermist, for sure. Very restful and would compliment most wood tones.
That silvermist color is beautiful. It looks like you are having a lot of fun. Good luck on your choices!
Yeah Erin, we win!!!
I have a similar color in my master bath-
Benjamin Moore's Comfort Grey. Definitely gives the soothing effect and goes well with our dk cherry stained cabinets and blue/green/grey slate tile.
Well so far the Silvermist is in the master bedroom and we did use the comfort gray in our guest bathroom. Thanks for your advice.

It really is difficult to choose the right paint color. I think I went through about six test colors before I found the right one for my room! That's the name of the game when it comes to redesign.
You room looks great so far and I'm sure it's going to look fantastic once it's complete.

Hey Deb! Hope the building is going well. If you have a chance, click over to my last post and give me your opinion on my range hood. I know you are probably up to your neck in making your own choices right now, but you have such great taste I would love to know what you think!
