This is today.
Before:
This is right after the sheetrock was installed.
Here the sheetrock has been "mudded".
The brick arch has been installed.
First coat of paint on the walls.
Crown moulding installed.
Cabinets and baseboards installed.
Granite installed.
Hood installed, backsplash in, last coat of paint and appliances.
And we moved in.
New lighting in and hood stained.
If you have any questions about the process of building or putting a room together, please leave a comment and I will get back to you.
We love the open concept of the kitchen, dining and living area. We have no formal areas. Our second living area is the screened in back porch. When I'm cooking we can all be together. I can watch tv while washing dishes.

It is absolutely stunning. The hood over your cooktop is gorgeous! I love the little chandeliers. Do you have two refrigerators or is it a frig and freezer? Either way it looks great with the window in between. I just love all of that brick.
Gorgeous! I love everything about it!
Thanks for your comments. I am really enjoying this space and sharing it with my family and friends. I wish you could come over and have a cup of coffee.
Stacey, that is a freezer on the left and refrigerator on the right. We love the brick too.
HI Deb! Great blog and congratulations on your art classes! My Dad actually grew up in Franklin! I hope you come visit my studio the next time you are in New Orleans and I hope you keep in touch!
Happy Tuesday!
Amanda
Your white chairs really pop against the dark wood. (Very pretty wood, by the way!)
Here are some (really scary) Befores + Afters I fiddled around with: http://tearinguphouses.blogspot.com/search/label/before%20%2B%20after
What a beautiful home you have. I would love to see more!
