IS YOUR?

IS YOUR BUTT GETTING BIG?

Mine sure is since I've started blogging.  This is one of the drawbacks to my obsession.

Once this butt gets planted to the chair in front of the computer, it's hard to leave it.

Hence, butt spread.

So instead of reading my favorite blogs this morning, about 100 of them.

I pulled up I tunes and danced.  Danced to some of my favorite songs that I've downloaded.

Now would anyone want to see me while I dance to my favorite dancing songs?

Heck no.

Maybe they would if they've been drinking and wanted a good laugh.

Because what do you think they would be looking at?  Huh?

The big butt.

Ok, I stopped to do this post to motivate you to get up from the computer and dance.

Excuse me while I continue with my dancing.

I will be back to you computer after I'm finished dancing and catching up on laundry and such.

WHAT'S GOING ON?

This is what I found when I visited the new house this morning.

Brick pavers going in.  For those of you who have been following along with this blog, you know the design of this home is mostly rustic.  The pavers are part of that design.  When I first saw them going in, I thought oh no they look to rustic, but today with the grout, I love it.

This is the hallway going to the garage.

This is my son's bathroom.  The ceramic tile on the floor and the cultured marble shower and vanity counter top have been installed.  For his bathroom, I will use the rubbed bronze finish on hardware, faucets, mirror and sconces.  Cabinet doors and drawers should be installed in here next week.

So far in the Master Bathroom.   Cabinets, cabinet doors, most of the drawers, ceramic tile on floor, marble counter tops and tub deck have been installed.

Master bathroom closet.  This will be a set of drawers.  The cabinet on top is where we will store towels.

A quick video going on in the main part of the house.

It's a mess, but I am so excited to see the interior doors.  We have been waiting for them to come in.

MEGAN'S SOUTHERN BABY SHOWER

We were blessed with a beautiful day and wonderful friends.

Doug's sister, Bridgett made the cake.

Some of the food.

This is the table with the favors and the mommy advice bucket.

This is such a cute idea.  Each person would write mommy advice for Megan on the pink slips of paper and place in the bucket.

Beautiful gifts

My two girls and me.

I don't know what I would do without these three awesome women in my life.
Thank you Marlo, Tricia and Renee.

Mom, Aunt Lou and mother-in-law

Megan with Doug's aunt, sisters and his mom.

Andy's girlfriend and her mom.

Deb and Deb, longtime friends.

Doug's aunt and two of his sisters.

My mom, my sister and her two girls.

Megan, who will be a mom in about 6 weeks.

THE FAIRFAX HOUSE

I know I said I would post about the shower next week and I will, but today I went to the Fairfax House to look around and see where we would set up and I just had to share these pictures of the place with you.  It is beautiful and today is a beautiful day.

This is just one of the lovely plantation homes here in Franklin.  It is now a bed and breakfast.
If you click on the name below, it will bring you to their website.  There you find everything you need to know about it.

This is a parlor just off the foyer.

This is a living area just off the parlor.

This is the bar area.

Love, love this back door and windows going to back porch.

This is the foyer in the front of the house.

Stairs.

This is the view looking off of the balcony upstairs facing Main Street, beyond that is Bayou Teche.  Just breathtaking.

This is one of the stately columns on the porch upstairs.

This is an antique baby walker.  Had to share, it is so unusual.

This is the door leading to the front porch upstairs.

This is behind the bar.  Love the chicken wire on the cabinet doors and the mirror on the wall inside the cabinets.

PICS FOR TODAY...........

The granite countertops for the kitchen were installed yesterday, as well as countertops in utility room, and master bathroom.

When building a home remember, things are never going to be perfect.  After the granite people left,  I realized that they did not cut out the hole for the utility room sink.

One of the back splashes in master bathroom could not be installed because the wall behind is not level so I went back to find hole in wall.

Didn't take a picture of my mouth dropping open or the hole.

The kitchen sink was dented.

Oh well, whatcha gonna do?

Pics for today:

The kitchen................

Those are temporary legs on the island, waiting for the ones we had to order to come in.

If you have any questions about finishes or granite or anything else on this blog, you can ask through the comments section or email me at debtib1@mac.com.

NOW, I'M GOING TO ASK YOU FOR ADVICE:
I AM TRYING TO DECIDE ON THE BACK SPLASH FOR THE KITCHEN.
I WILL POST PICTURES OF CHOICES LATER.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?
I'M OPEN TO ALL SUGGESTIONS,

PLEASE SUGGEST.

I'm off to the beautiful Fairfax House where we will hold my daughter, Megan's baby shower this Saturday.  I will try to post about it on Monday.

Happy Easter!

ALMOST THERE

When I drove up today, Cleco was there installing our permanent service.  Oh man, Bryant will have a cow when he sees this.

All three front door sets are in place.  Next here, antique pine posts, shutters and hanging gas lantern.

Back porch, still waiting for back door set to be installed.  Next to come, cement board to look like siding on the back wall, steps, outdoor kitchen, screens and screened doors.

This is where outdoor kitchen will be.

Work is going fast on the shed.

That's all for today.

I'll have more tomorrow.

Some of the countertops will be installed today.  I'm on my way out there to watch.

Rylee Claire

It's getting close.

My second granddaughter, Rylee Claire is due in June.

I'm so proud of Megan, my daughter and the way she has handled her pregnancy so far.

She is just precious and I know her little girl will be too.

Can you tell I'm getting just a little excited?

This week is Holy Week.

Let us all remember what our Lord did for us this Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter.

Thank you God for sending Jesus so that you could be among us in human form.  Thank you for your sacrifice and resurrection for the forgiveness of our sins.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS

We have one bedroom and bathroom upstairs.  I swore before we built, no more stairs.  Well wouldn't you know it.  We are going to have stairs.  I knew I wanted stained risers on the stairs which we are still doing.

Then I found this picture of the bricks on the front of the stairs and I don't know what to do.......

Do I put the brick pavers on the front of the stairs?

Or do I just stain the whole thing?

Our stairwell is not as beautiful and curvy as this.  It will go up and then turn to the right and it is flanked by the two walls and will have  hand railings attached to the walls.  I don't know how else to describe it.  When I go back to the house I will take pics of how it looks now so you can get the gist of it.

Decisions, decisions.  Please, please tell me what you would do and why you would do it.

Thanks,

Deb
